what to do with RC

hi,

i have my gmat in a week. my scores are always 660 and 680. i manage 48 to 50 in math but verbal is always 34 or 33. most of the times it is because of RCs.

how do i scale my score up to reach the 700+ mark?

please suggest.

Can you tell me a little bit about your approach to the RC passages? Also, do you know if you are having more trouble with the general type questions (main idea, tone) versus the specific questions?

For general questions, I always emphasize practice in how you read the passage. It is important to be able to condense the passage to its most important points, which often means ignoring the confusing details, but paying attention to things like transitional sentences.

Specific questions I tend to approach more like a CR question - make sure and stay within the scope of the passage, or paragraph as it often is.

If you want to expand on your approach and the types of problems that are giving you trouble, I'd be happy to offer some advice. Also, I am teaching a 5-day verbal crash course starting tomorrow (Monday) that starts each weekday at 8 pm eastern time.

i have problem with questions that are round about. but wth practise, i am able to crack them now. however, questions abt who the author may be still boggle me.
