Kaplan online course
Anybody familiar with Kaplan GMAT online course? I am interested in couple of things:
- Are the tests in this course same as the ones that come with Kaplan GMAT Book CD?
- How is the difficulty of these tests compare to the actual GMAT?
Thanks for your input...

anil,
I paid for the teacher-based kaplan course last year (it included the online course as well). Personally I think it was a complete waste of time/money. I would definitely recommend not to pay for it.
I've found scorechase + the manhattan gmat books/tests to be much more comprehensive. mgmat books, as well as the scorechase forums, teach content. Alot of Kaplan's methodology is to teach "tricks"...the only "trick" that I think is of ANY use is to know that if a quant question asks "which of the following...", and if you cannot solve the question, your educated guesses should start from E and go up. There is a high percentage of the "which of the following" questions that end up to be D or E as correct answers on the actual exam.
Good luck

For better or worse, I subscribed to their online course three weeks back. I have taken their diagnostic test and three CATs so far. I am doing very well in quant and my verbal score is all over the place. My quant was consistently higher than 50, but my verbal ranged from 31-43. In some forums I heard that their test are difficult. So, I want to know if online course tests are same as the tests that come with the book. If anybody has experience taking online course tests, I would like to compare notes.
BTW, I think their quant is more formula oriented. Basically their questions seem to be shorter than actual GMAT questions. So, probably not very reflective of actual GMAT.

GMATPrep is the best indicator of actual GMAT toughness .... Kaplan may be either side.
