PS Long Time Question
The following time question is too long to complete by hand. Does anyone have an idea on how to do it faster?
If it is 6:27 in the evening on a certain day, what time in the morning was it exactly 2,880,717 minutes earlier? (Assume standard time in one location.)
A) 6:22.
B) 6:24.
C) 6:27.
D) 6:30.
E) 6:32

Ok, I did it this way:
1 - Rounded 2880717 to 2881, thus we have 2881/60 = 48 hours (rounded #)
2 - If it's 6:27 pm in the evening then if you go back 48 hours, you'll get 6:27 am.
Please let me know if this is the answer.

Note that 1 day = 24 hours = 1440 minutes
2,880,717 = 2,880,720 - 3, so we are going back a whole number of days have elapsed as well as 3 minutes less than 12 hours.
Thus D

Since it asks for morning time around 6 am. The difference of 12 hours would be 12*60=720 min.
720-717=3 min less than 12 hrs
