If 6*m-n=20, what is the value of n ?
1.m^2=36
2.3*m=n+2



Can't we say that 1 is also sufficient ? stmt 1 gives m=+6 or m=-6, we can still find out the value of n using m=+6/-6.

we cant say 1 is sufficient ..because you will find two values of n. but answer must be unique. 2 values => insufficient data.

You must get a unique value to answer if the statement is sufficient. As you can see that A gives you m = +6/-6 - so u will get two different values for n.

Now suppose the equation is 6*lml-n=20 (Modulus of m)

In that case, you put either 6 or -6, you will get the same answer. Then A will be sufficient.
