How to improve from 620-630 to 700+

    Hi all,
I gave some practice tests like GMATprep ,Kaplan (free) ,Knewton(free)
and scored around 620-630 in all............

As all say that GMAT prep is closest to actual GMAT ...my scores in GMAT prep were

test1-620 with 48 in QA and 29 in VA
I concentrated on my verbal after this...

test1 retake-620 with 38 in QA and 38 in VA

as you can see ...even though i improved my verbal , my overall score was low as i screwed up my maths............
any tips on improving overall scores...........

I am weak in DS especially probability................

    any suggestion on that??

    thanks in advance.............

    Hi Gaurav,

seeing your test scores, Here is a 10,000 feet level observation:

Good : I think you have grown a lot in verbal ==> You have the tendency to improve which is nice. You have score well in math before, so you can improve in both. Your verbal score has improved to a great level, you need to keep it there.

Points where you need to improve: The decline in your math score was substantial which could indicate a confidence issue (over confidence?), concentration/focus issue or simply practice issue.

If you prefer to self study, I recommend practicing a lot of Math problems, especially 700+ level problems and try to get your Math score back to 49-51. Also, in your practice tests, take the full test (dont skip AWA) so that your stamina and conc levels are good through out the test.

If you prefer to take help, I recommend GMAT Crash Course, it focuses on a lot of techniques to solve 700+ level questions.

    Hui Gaurav,

Our Crash Courses would be perfect to take you to the next level. In the crash courses we talk about the difficult tricks that make the 700 level questions, what you need to be careful about and how you need to guess and move on if you are stuck. For more information, check GMAT Crash course

Apart from that, if you are looking at free references, the best way would be to research on terms such as "difficult gmat ps" , "difficult gmat ds" etc.

    Hi,
Gave a Kaplan and a PR test got 600 in both........
Although i think i should have got a much higher score in PR test.......
I got 32 correct in Quant and 31 correct in VA but the score were 43 in QA and 34 in VA for the PR test..........
How comparable are these tests with real GMAT?
How good is a score of 600 in a Kaplan test(free one) as many say they are a bit on the tougher side?

Should i go for MGMAT tests??

    Please do help..............
