    math problem-algebra

    the ratio between the two numbers is 11:13. If the smaller number is 286, then find the number__________?
    Please help with this problem

    Where are the answe choices ??

    smaller number is 286 .. so

    286/x = 11/13

    => x = 13*286/11 = 13 * 26

    Look at answer choices now and see which one has 8 in the units digit.

    what are the steps like
    is 286:x=11:13 this step correct?

    yes 286:x=11:13 is correct. I wrote the same thing but in division mode.
