    Sequence DS

    If the terms of a sequence are t1, t2, t3, . . . , tn, what is the value of n?

    (1) The sum of the n terms is 3,124.

    (2) The average (arithmetic mean) of the n terms is 4.

    from (1) the sum of numbers is 3124
    from (2) the sum of numbers is 4n since the arithmetic mean is (t1+t2+...+tn)/n=4.
    from both (1) and (2) .... we can get the value of n by equating the sum of numbers.
    therefore 4n=3124
    n=781
    we don't have to bother about the type of series .. we just need to calculate the value of n... by using the given data.
